Deb is the Founder and Principal of a business and market strategy planning firm,
Blue Pencil, specializing in market research, brand planning and strategy formation,
as well as an ecommerce-based B2B marketing business, Blue Ware. Her work has
included the research and development of product launch strategies, brand
repositioning strategies, retail distribution strategies and customer
service strategies.
Deb’s background prior to forming Blue Pencil and Blue Ware has included
functioning as the managing partner of a retail design firm, and as an
executive within both RPA and RichardsonSmith (both, now part of Fitch).
Deb has worked with and is currently working with both Fortune 500
companies and startups. Notable client engagements have included
Fidelity Investments, HSBC, Sears, Ford Motor Company, Target,
Limited Brands, Steelcase, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Wendy’s, Payless Drug,
Nationwide, Chase, Sprint and Sherwin Williams.
Deb attended the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science
in Industrial Design. After graduating from the University of Kansas,
she attended The Ohio State of University and pursued graduate studies
in both Psychology and Industrial Design, earning a Master of Science
in Industrial Design.
